Rockin Bob’s Guitars started out in the 1981 as Used Sound, part of a Boston based chain of used TV and stereo shops. Over the years TV’s were dropped and guitars and amps became a larger and larger portion of  the business.

In 2001, Used Sound celebrated its 20th anniversary by renovating the store, adding significantly to its guitar inventory. In 2004, Rockin  Bob renamed the store Rockin Bob's Guitars thereby making the focus even more on guitars and musician’s needs. Audio and stereo gear is  still sold and serviced, though.

Our location (next to Johnny D's and across the street from the Somerville Theatre) makes us an excellent pit-stop for performers who need an extra set of guitar strings or want to check out a few cool guitars.

Amp repair on premises. Rockin' Bob, is a master technician with over 25 years' experience in amp repair. We are one of the few qualified shops in the Boston area to offer guitar amp repair and we specialize in tube amps.

 

New budget guitars for the beginning student. Rockin Bob’s is an authorized dealer for the Johnson Guitar Company, offering an excellent line of acoustic guitars starting at $115.
 

We Buy Guitars! Rockin Bob's Guitars buys guitars in good condition, and we accept trade-ins if you're making a purchase. We offer fair, Blue Book prices. Unlike consignment shops, we'll write you a check right away.
