The purpose of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middlesex County is to promote the social, educational, health, leadership, and character development of boys and girls during critical periods of their growth. Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Middlesex County is a unique organization consisting of 5 Clubhouse facilities located within the communities of Somerville, Medford and Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our goal is to provide each and every one of the 5,000 children and teens that we serve with the essential tools needed for a successful and bright future.
Since 1973 the vision of our organization has grown and changed with the needs of our children. As the needs of our children and their families continue to evolve, so too will the dynamics of our programs and services.
Character & Leadership
Development Programs in Character and Leadership Development empower youth to support and influence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process and respect their own and others’ cultural identities.
Education & Career Development
Programs in Education and Career Development enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.
Health & Life Skills
Programs in Health and Life Skills develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
The Arts
Programs in The Arts enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
Sports, Fitness & Recreation
Programs in Sports, Fitness and Recreation develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment and social skills.
